Terms of Service

Last updated: August 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TheMoneyMitra mobile application ("the App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, and capable of forming a binding contract, to use TheMoneyMitra.

2. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in method (phone OTP, Google, or Apple ID) secure, and for all activity under your account. Let us know immediately at hello@themoneymitra.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. The Service

TheMoneyMitra helps you track expenses, categorize transactions, set budgets and savings goals, and understand your spending — via manual entry, bank-statement CSV import, or optional read-only Gmail transaction detection. TheMoneyMitra does not connect to your bank accounts directly, does not initiate payments or transfers, and does not require your net-banking credentials.

TheMoneyMitra is a tracking and budgeting tool only. It does not provide investment, tax, or financial advice, and we are not a registered investment advisor. Decisions about your money are yours to make.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

  • TheMoneyMitra offers a free Basic plan and a paid Premium plan, which may include a free trial (currently 7 days).
  • Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal.
  • If you don't cancel before your free trial ends, you'll be charged for the subscription you selected.
  • You can cancel or manage your subscription anytime through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — we don't process payments directly and can't issue refunds ourselves; refund requests are handled under Apple's or Google's own refund policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App or its infrastructure; misuse the Gmail integration outside its intended purpose; or attempt to access another user's data without authorization.

6. Your Data

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it, and forms part of these Terms.

7. Termination

You may stop using the App and deactivate your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access to the App for violations of these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transaction detection (from Gmail or CSV import) will be perfectly accurate — always review imported transactions before relying on them.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TheMoneyMitra and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including decisions made based on information the App displays.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
